Anna Coyote Marching Band

This past Saturday, the Anna Coyote Marching Band traveled to the Aubrey Marching Classic for our first contest of the season. The band was able to fight off high temperature and first contest jitters to finish the preliminary round of competition in first place overall and win the “Best Musical Performance” and “Best Color Guard” captions. In finals, we performed fourth out of ten bands. There were several key improvements needing to be made to hold on to the top spot. The students not only rose to the occasion but blew the door off its hinges with easily the best performance of the season. The Coyotes soundly defeated the competition with a decisive win in all captions including: “Best Musical Performance”, “Best Marching Performance”, “Best Auxiliary (Color Guard) Performance”, and “Best Percussion Performance”. This is the first time that the Anna High School Band has been named the Grand Champion in any marching competition.

We look forward to this weekend as we tackle two competitions in one day. We will be performing at the McKinney Marching Invitational in the McKinney ISD Stadium at 10:30 AM. We will then perform at the Don Hanna Memorial Marching Competition in Denton at C.H. Collins Stadium at 2:00 PM. GO COYOTES
