Pre-K Family Engagement Plan
Anna ISD Prekindergarten Eligibility
To participate in AISD’s Pre-K Program, a child must be 4 years old on or before September 1 of the current school year AND meet one of the following criteria:
- Limited English Proficiency: the child is unable to speak or comprehend the English Language
- Educationally Disadvantaged: the child would be eligible to participate in the National Free and Reduced Lunch Program (based on family’s gross income)
- Homeless: the child is homeless
- Child of an active duty of the Armed Services of the United States
- Child of a member of the Armed Services who was injured or killed while on active duty
- Child has been under the conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services following an adversary hearing.
- Is the child of a person eligible for the Star of Texas Award as:
- a peace officer under Section 3106.002, Government Code;
- a firefighter under Section 3106.003, Government Code;
- an emergency medical first responder under Section 3106.004, Government Code
The following documents are required to register for Prekindergarten:
- Proof of income (two most recent pay stubs for all household members)
- Certified Copy of Birth certificate
- Proof of residence (current utility bill with parent/guardian’s name and address)
- Social Security card of the child
- Current immunization records
- Enrolling parent's driver's license
