SCMS Basketball Teams Bring Home District Championships

Slayter Creek Middle School is celebrating an extraordinary basketball season as three teams captured district championships, highlighting the strength, dedication, and character of its student-athletes.

This year’s district champions include the 7th grade girls, 8th grade girls, and 8th grade boys basketball teams. In an especially impressive accomplishment, both the 7th and 8th grade girls teams completed their seasons undefeated, demonstrating consistency, teamwork, and resilience from the first tipoff to the final buzzer.

Throughout the season, the student-athletes displayed outstanding fundamentals, discipline, and determination on the court. Their commitment to improvement and team unity played a pivotal role in securing the district titles. Each game reflected hours of practice, strong coaching leadership, and a shared commitment to excellence.

Beyond their athletic success, these teams have also represented Slayter Creek with pride in the classroom. The athletes have maintained high academic standards while balancing the demands of competition, exemplifying what it means to be true student-athletes. Their conduct, sportsmanship, and leadership have made a positive impact both on and off the court.

“This achievement speaks volumes about the hard work of our students and coaches,” said campus principal Matthew Blanscet. “We are incredibly proud of how these teams represent our school and our community — not just through their victories, but through their character and commitment to excellence every day.”

The championships mark a memorable season for Slayter Creek Middle School and reflect the continued growth of the athletic program. As these student-athletes celebrate their accomplishments, they also set a strong example for younger students who aspire to follow in their footsteps.

Slayter Creek Middle School congratulates the 7th grade girls, 8th grade girls, and 8th grade boys basketball teams on an outstanding season and three well-earned district championships. The future is bright for these champions — on the court, in the classroom, and in the Anna community.
