A special moment at Sue E. Rattan Elementary!
Today, Counselor Megan Massey presented second grader Victoria with a token to use in the school’s book vending machine. Victoria, who is new to Rattan Elementary, has been noticed showing exceptional kindness, patience, and care for her siblings each day. Her actions reflect the very spirit of what it means to show good character.
At Rattan, students can earn Coyote Bucks by helping others, showing kindness, and making positive choices even when no one is watching. They can save their Coyote Bucks and exchange them for a token, which allows them to choose one book from the vending machine. Students who are chosen as Habit Heroes, the school’s version of Student of the Month, also receive a token.
The book vending machine program inspires students to build character, make thoughtful choices, and discover the joy of reading.
