Gabe Medrano Named Principal of L. Dow Hendricks
We are thrilled to announce Gabe Medrano as the new principal of Lorenzo Dow Hendricks Elementary. With a rich background in educational leadership, Mr. Medrano brings a transformative vision to the school and is dedicated to creating a supportive and inspiring learning environment for students and staff.
Mr. Medrano's educational journey spans 16 years, marked by diverse roles that have shaped his comprehensive understanding of student development. His career began as an elementary math teacher in Plano ISD, where he spent six years cultivating young minds. Since then, he has served in Anna ISD as an administrator for nine years, holding key leadership positions, including Assistant Principal at Bryant Elementary, Principal of the Anna Education Center, and most recently, Associate Principal at Anna High School.
This varied experience across different grade levels and educational settings has equipped Mr. Medrano with a unique, holistic approach to education. He understands the nuanced needs of students at every stage of their academic growth, making him an exceptional leader for Dow Hendricks Elementary.
"Being named principal of Dow Hendricks Elementary is not just a professional milestone—it's a profound personal honor," Mr. Medrano shared. "My goal is for Hendricks to be a beacon of hope and opportunity for the community, where every student is empowered to discover their potential, feel genuinely valued, and be challenged to excel."
Academically, Mr. Medrano holds a Master's in Educational Administration from Texas A&M Commerce and a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Arts from the University of Texas at Arlington. Beyond his professional achievements, he is supported by his wife, Jessica, an Instructional Coach for Sherman ISD, and his two beloved dogs, Delta and Bruce Wayne.
