Anna ISD Welcomes New Assistant Superintendent of Finance, Cindy Watson

Anna ISD proudly welcomes Cindy Watson as its new Assistant Superintendent of Finance, effective April 14, 2026. With an impressive career in school finance spanning over three decades, Cindy brings a wealth of experience, a deep understanding of public school budgeting, and a passion for serving students and educators.

Cindy earned her Master’s degree from the University of North Texas and holds a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license. She most recently served as the Chief Financial Officer for Decatur ISD, providing a decade of dedicated leadership from 2015 to 2025. Before her time in Decatur, Cindy held CFO positions at Wichita Falls ISD for three years and Gainesville ISD for eleven years. She has built a strong reputation as a trusted financial steward in Texas public schools.

Outside of her professional role, Cindy enjoys a vibrant family life with her husband, Wade, who owns Texas Custom Trailers. Together, they have five children: three daughters and two sons. This spring is an especially proud season for the Watson family. One daughter will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Texas Tech University, another will earn her master’s degree in accounting from Tech, and a third already holds three degrees from the same institution. Their youngest son is set to graduate from Lindsay High School in May, while their oldest son is preparing for his wedding in June.

Cindy’s proven leadership, financial expertise, and commitment to excellence make her a tremendous asset to Anna ISD. We are excited to welcome her to our Coyote family as we continue to grow and pursue excellence for all students.
