Anna ISD Celebrates Teachers with Teacher Incentive Allotment Designations
Anna ISD had a celebratory start to the week as 47 teachers across seven campuses were surprised with Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) designations. This initiative, established through House Bill 3 during the 2019 state legislative session, was built for Texas school districts to designate and reward top-performing teachers. Through approved local designation systems, districts can identify and designate outstanding teachers based on student growth and classroom observation.
The TIA program is a testament to the district’s commitment to valuing educators and investing in the quality of education. Employing designated teachers generates extra funding for districts to reward top performers. Anna ISD’s first group of teachers who earned the designations will receive state-funded pay increases totaling more than $3.5 million over the next five years.
“Being recognized under the Teacher Incentive Allotment program is a significant achievement for our educators. It acknowledges their dedication and hard work and serves as a testament to their impact on student success,” remarked Tressi Bridges, Executive Director of Strategic Initiatives & Advanced Academics/GT at Anna ISD. “This program not only rewards our teachers financially but also provides a platform for continuous professional growth and development.”
Teachers can earn one of three levels of designation - Recognized, Exemplary, or Master. These designations reflect educators’ commitment to excellence in their profession and their contributions to student learning outcomes. The recognition of these teachers underscores the district’s commitment to fostering a culture of excellence and innovation in education.
The recipients of the TIA designations represent a diverse group of educators from various disciplines and grade levels. Their dedication to student success and passion for teaching have set them apart as commendable professionals in their field.
