The Anna ISD Board of Trustees, at its meeting on April 3 named Mr. Michael Comeaux, as the lone finalist for superintendent. By law, the Board must wait 21 days before Comeaux’s employment is official as the superintendent of Anna ISD.

Finding and hiring a superintendent for the district was a long process. The board examined over 70 applications, and while many were very qualified candidates, AISD Board President Shelli Conway said, “Mr. Comeaux rose to the top. We believe we've chosen the best for the children and employees of our district.”

Conway continued, “Mike has a reputation of being a top-notch guy with vast knowledge in a variety of areas, an extremely hard worker and one that is always willing to learn and grow in order to do what is best for his district. His personality, coupled with his professional abilities are things we believe make him a good fit for Anna ISD and our community as a whole. We look forward to working with Mike, with the continued goal of providing the best education and opportunities possible for our Anna ISD students.”

This year marks Comeaux’s twenty-third as an educator in Texas. Comeaux will finish the remainder of his eighth year as the Superintendent of Post ISD, before coming to Anna. Before his Post ISD experience, he served three years as Palmer High School principal and two years as assistant principal at Lumberton High School. He served his first ten years in education as a secondary teacher, coach, head coach and athletic director.

Comeaux and his wife Keely have two adult daughters.
