The Collin County Jr. Livestock Show is an opportunity for FFA and 4H members to compete with the livestock, rabbits, floral design projects and ag mechanics projects they have spent the better part of the year raising, designing or growing. This event ends with a live auction that rewards students for their success and hard work.

The show started on Tuesday, January 8th with 17 Anna swine exhibitors showing 19 pigs. Over 370 pigs were present in total and 11 animals from the Anna FFA were fortunate to fall in the top third of their classes, qualifying them for the premium auction.

Wednesday was a historic day for the Anna FFA. Jr. FFA member, Case Burney's broiler chickens were named Grand Champion, besting more than 40 other pens of birds. In addition, rabbit exhibitors won various classes and breeds.

As the show progressed to Thursday, lamb and goat exhibitors put their animals to the test. All of Anna FFA member's goats finished in the top 4 of their class, including two class winners. All goats and one lamb made the sale for their efforts.

The highlights of the day were Anna FFA member, Owen Bourland winning reserve division champion Angus Heifer and Hallie Nance receiving the Reserve Senior Showmanship Award. In addition, numerous other students won or placed high in their classes.

All Anna FFA students did a great job caring for and exhibiting their projects. In total, 18 animals qualified for the premium action. All of these exhibitors were rewarded for their hard work and success. Most animal projects will continue to Fort Worth Stock Show and some will show at additional major shows.
