Anna ISD's Federal Programs Department works to ensure that federal funds are used wisely and efficiently for the advancement of student achievement.
Receiving federal funds allows AISD to implement research-based campus and District initiatives that supplement and enhance the District's outstanding educational programs.
Title I, Part A - Improving Basic Programs This NCLB entitlement provides supplemental resources to schools with high concentrations of students from low-income families, allowing LEAs to provide a high-quality education that will enable all children to meet the state's student performance standards. Title I, Part A provides support to schools in implementing either a school-wide program or a targeted assistance program and requires that these programs use effective methods and instructional strategies that are grounded in scientifically based research.

Title II, Part A - Teacher Training and Recruiting
Title II, Part A provides supplemental funding to provide professional support for core curriculum teachers and principals. The program purpose is to elevate teacher and principal quality through recruitment, hiring and retention strategies and to increase the number of highly qualified teachers in the classroom and highly qualified principals and assistant principals in schools. The program uses scientifically based professional development interventions and holds districts and schools accountable for improvements in student academic performance.
Title III, Part A – English Language Acquisition, Language Enhancement, and Academic Achievement Act
Title III, Part A aims to ensure that English language learner (ELL) and immigrant students attain English language proficiency and meet the same challenging State academic content and student academic achievement standards all children are expected to meet.
