Ambassador Academy

Program Overview

  • The Anna ISD Ambassador Academy is an annual program that provides citizens of our community a better understanding of public school operations, specifically tailored to the operations of Anna ISD.

    This program gives participants the opportunity to learn more about:

    • Board member roles and responsibilities
    • Superintendent and administrative cabinet roles and responsibilities
    • District Strategic Plan
    • Curriculum, instruction and assessment
    • District operations related to general business and school finance
    • Anna’s growth and how it applies to the district

    The Ambassador Academy program may be of particular interest to individuals interested in running for the school board in the future, but it's not limited in that capacity. The program will provide participants with a better understanding of the reasoning for many of the district's operational decisions; and better insight as to why Anna ISD is an excellent school choice for our community and our children.

Program Details

  • The Ambassador Academy meets six times between the months of September and April. The six sessions are held on Monday evenings from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM.  

    The majority of the sessions are held in the Anna ISD Board Room, although we may take field trips to other campuses.

    Dinner is provided for participants at each of the six sessions. Childcare is not provided.

Participant Qualifications

  • The Ambassador Academy is open to all Anna citizens interested in learning more about Anna ISD. The program is limited to 20 individuals. Due to the limited number of spaces, we do ask that if you are accepted, you commit to attend all six sessions.

Ambassador Application

  • Applications for the Ambassador Academy open in August of every year. Our goal is to create a group that is highly diverse and representative of the Anna ISD Community.
