- pay any outstanding fines/fees for library/text books, cafeteria charges, etc.
- collect your cords, stoles and medals earned to wear in graduation
- return Chromebooks if you checked one out this semsester
We appreciate your continued patience as the district prepares the final graduation plan. We will send out the full details of the graduation ceremony on Wednesday, May 13. Please understand we won't be able to answer specific questions until after Wednesdays' announcement.
Due to the continued restrictions around large gatherings, a traditional graduation ceremony is looking less likely well into the month of August. We understand that not all students will be in town for an August graduation; therefore, the district would prefer not to postpone graduation.
Our deserving students have been working toward this milestone for 13 years. Our goal is to preserve as much tradition as possible for our seniors and their families while ensuring the health and well-being of all graduates, staff, and family members.
We are actively planning a Drive-In Graduation to take place on our original date and time - May 22 at 7:00 PM. However, we have submitted our plan to the Texas Education Agency and are waiting on approval from Governor Abbott to host Drive-In Graduation.
This proposed Anna ISD Graduation Plan would allow each graduate one car. You may fit as many people as legally allowed in your car. Due to limited space, limousines and RVs will not be permitted. Cars may be decorated to celebrate and represent your senior. Cars with inappropriate or derogatory images or words will not be permitted.
Seniors would walk across the stage in their cap and gown and receive their diploma cover. The entire graduation ceremony would be broadcasted on a special event FM radio station for cars in attendance.
For those who are unable to attend, the graduation ceremony would be live-streamed.
If this plan is approved, senior families will receive further details and procedures about Drive-in Graduation. We are expecting a decision from TEA and the governor on or before May 4.
Please know that we are working very hard to make this a special event for the graduating Class of 2020.
Anna ISD is committed to hosting a traditional graduation ceremony for the Class of 2020 on the scheduled day of May 22. However, in light of the current COVID-19 health situation, we are actively exploring a contingency plan in the event we are unable to proceed with our traditional commencement program.
The goal of the contingency plan (Plan B) is to try and preserve as much tradition as possible for our seniors and their families while ensuring the health and well-being of all graduates, staff members, and family members.
We realize you are going to have questions that we are unable to answer at this time. Please know we are working very hard on Graduation 2020 and are committed to providing further insight and information as soon as it becomes available.
We've created this web page in which we will continue to provide updates as they become available, please bookmark this web page.
