UIL Homeschool Participation


Anna ISD welcomes families who want to learn more about opportunities for eligible homeschool students to participate in UIL Academics, Fine Arts, and Athletics!
We are excited to offer homeschool families the opportunity to engage in a wide range of UIL activities, from academic competitions to sports and fine arts events. This new initiative reflects our commitment to providing all students, regardless of educational setting, the chance to excel and compete at the highest levels.
UIL Fine Arts Programs
- Band - 7th-12th grades
- Choir - 7th-12th grades
- Theatre - 7th-12th grades
- Color Guard - 7th-12th grades
- Dance - 9th - 12th grades
UIL Athletic Programs

UIL Academic Programs
Students in 7th-12th grades are offered the opportunity to compete in UIL-sanctioned Academic Competitions. Visit the campus UIL Academic webpages for more information:
All homeschool students are subject to auditions, evaluations or tryouts for specific participation at the competition level. All students are expected to follow the same standards set by the directors or head coaches for each program.
Eligibility
- Homeschool students who reside within the district boundaries are eligible.
- Homeschool students residing outside the boundaries need to be verified by Anna ISD to be eligible before participation.
- Need to provide sports physical prior to participation
- Homeschool students must provide grade-level academic proficiency prior to participation through an approved standardized test.
- Homeschool students will be subject to the same UIL standards of no-pass, no play regulations and must provide grade reports every eligibility period.
- Students who played UIL Varsity at a public school in the previous school year are subject to sit out 15 days in compliance with applicable UIL rules for varsity participation. (HS Athletics only)
