Our School-Based Telehealth Program lets your child get Children's Health expertise right from school. Telehealth uses video technology to connect your child at school to a doctor or nurse practitioner at Children’s Health℠

If your child is enrolled and gets sick at school:

• The school nurse will determine if a pediatric provider is needed to diagnose the child based on Telehealth guidelines.
• The parent will be contacted before scheduling the appointment and has the option to join online or by phone. We also offer interpretation services as needed. *Even with written consent on file, a parent or guardian must give verbal consent before an appointment can be scheduled.
• The school nurse will connect your child with a Children’s Health provider using video technology and conduct an exam.
• If necessary, the pediatric provider will call in a prescription to your chosen pharmacy.
• A summary will be provided to you and your child’s primary care provider to continue treatment as necessary. Children’s Health uses MyChart®, an internet-based medical record system. You and your family can get treated right in the comfort of your home, office, or virtually anywhere you go – right from your mobile device.

During your consultation, a Virtual Visit provider will determine if a diagnosis is possible or if you need further examination (tests, specialty visit, etc.) just like an in-office visit.

If a provider is unable to treat you, you will not be charged, and they will refer you for further testing.

Telehealth services will be billed by Children's Health to:

• Your insurance provider (Urgent Care copay)
• Medicaid

No insurance? No problem. After your visit, Children’s Health will bill you directly. Most families qualify for a discount, and no student will be turned away due to a lack of insurance.
