The AISD Communications department provides timely information to staff, faculty, students, parents, and the community through print and electronic mediums. As a team, the department promotes positive school district public relations both within the school district and the community. The office prepares and distributes information about the district’s goals and activities, and promotes and fosters partnerships between the community, the district, and schools.
AISD has a blend of both centralized and decentralized modes of communication. Decentralized modes are the ones that the campus or department oversees. School Board policies regarding communications guide the decentralized modes. Centralized communications are run through the Communications Office. With centralized modes of communication, the office partners with the campuses to communicate with parents, students, staff, and the community.
Typically, the best way to contact your child’s teacher is through email. Due to their schedule, teachers are limited as to when they can receive or return phone calls. They have a limited conference period time. Therefore, we ask that you please allow them 24 hours to return your call.
The most up-to-date school news is available on the district’s website with press releases, general information, links to all the district campuses and departments and Board policies along with a variety of other information.
