Event Entry Guidelines: Clear Bags & Prohibited Items
Anna ISD implemented a Clear Bag Policy in the 2026-27 school year to enhance safety and security for all students, staff and guests. The policy applies to all middle and high school events, including athletic, fine arts and other extracurricular activities, regardless of venue, and aligns with University Interscholastic League (UIL) standards.
Approved Bags
Guests may bring only the following types of bags:
- Clear tote bags no larger than 12" x 6" x 12"
- Small bags or purses no larger than 4.5" x 6.5"
- Medically necessary bags
- Diaper bags
Prohibited Bags
Prohibited bags include, but are not limited to:
- Purses, bags and containers larger than 4.5" x 6.5"
- Backpacks
- Camera bags
- Binocular cases
- Coolers
- Computer bags
All guests and belongings are subject to security screening upon entry. Bags may be inspected regardless of size or type. Medically necessary bags and diaper bags are permitted but are subject to inspection. Guests carrying prohibited bags or items will not be admitted unless the items are returned to their vehicles. Re-entry is not permitted.
Prohibited Items
Food and Beverage Items
- Outside food or beverages
- Reusable tumblers, mugs or cups
- Coolers or ice chests
- Alcoholic beverages
Tobacco and Controlled Substances
- Tobacco products of any kind
- Vape devices
- Illegal drugs and other unlawful controlled substances
Weapons and Hazardous Items
- Weapons of any kind, including knives and other sharp objects
- Fireworks, pyrotechnic devices or explosives
- Aerosol cans, portable heaters, silly string or confetti
Recreational Items and Equipment
- Balloons, Frisbees, or balls of any type
- Skateboards, bicycles, roller skates or rollerblades
- Lawn chairs inside stadiums or gyms
- Tripods
- Drones
- Whistles or air horns
Animals
- Animals, except trained service animals
