What a blessing it is to work alongside the outstanding team of educators here in Anna!  Our District Vision- "To maximize individual potential and ensure all students are empowered to conquer the challenges of education, work, and life" really appeals to me and supports my purpose in serving as an educator.  I firmly believe that education can be one of the greatest equalizers in our nation where students can overcome childhood obstacles and still be able to accomplish their life's dreams.  My role in the fulfillment of this vision is to first make sure that I am well equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop systems and structures that support educators in their individual roles, to listen to all stakeholders, and collaboratively develop and support our schools through the school improvement process so that all of our teachers and students experience success.

This marks my 24th year in education where I have taught elementary and middle school. I was an Assistant Principal and Principal, District Director of Accountability and Continuous Improvement, an Area Director, and a Director of Elementary Education.  I began my teaching career in southwest Missouri then moved with my family to Allen, Texas in 2002.   I worked in Allen ISD, Grapevine-Colleyville ISD, Garland ISD, and Sherman ISD before coming to Anna in January of 2020 as the new Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction.  All of these roles helped to prepare me for my biggest challenge, starting a new role in a new district in the midst of a pandemic!

My husband, Don, my mother, and I moved to Anna in 2017 to enjoy the beauty of living in the country once again.  We have 4 married, adult children, with 10 beautiful grandchildren.  These people are my world and if you ever have spare time, I will be happy to share stories, photos, and videos of all the great things they do.  This year, one of my grandchildren became an Anna Coyote and the work here has taken on a whole new meaning for me.  I could not be more proud of the education she is receiving and will receive in her time here.  This is a result of educators engaging in hard work, thoughtful discourse, and intentional efforts on behalf of children.  For that, I am so grateful to the Anna ISD Community.  I look forward to continuing that work and improving on that work as we embark on a new frontier with virtual learning.
